Discover the best times to experience enduro riding in Latvia, from muddy spring trails to golden autumn adventures. Learn what each season offers and how to prepare.
Latvia's diverse terrain and four distinct seasons offer unique enduro experiences throughout the year. Whether you're drawn to muddy spring trails, dry summer paths, or colorful autumn rides, understanding what each season brings will help you choose the perfect time for your adventure.
Spring (April - May): The Awakening
Spring brings fresh energy to Latvia's trails as nature wakes from winter. This is when the forests come alive with blooming wildflowers and the sound of returning birds.
What to Expect:
- Fresh, often muddy trails that test your technical skills
- Moderate temperatures (10-18°C / 50-64°F)
- Longer daylight hours as days get brighter
- Fewer crowds on the trails
- Spectacular wildflower displays in forest clearings
Best For: Intermediate to advanced riders who enjoy technical, muddy terrain. Spring mud requires good throttle control and balance skills.
What to Bring:
- Waterproof riding gear (rain is common)
- Extra layers for cooler mornings
- Mudguards and goggles with tear-offs
- Positive attitude toward getting dirty!
The spring season is perfect if you want to push your skills. The softer ground is more forgiving for falls, but the mud can be challenging. Our guides know exactly where the trails are rideable and where it's too soft.
Summer (June - August): Peak Season
Summer is Latvia's most popular riding season, and for good reason. Long days, warm weather, and mostly dry trails create ideal conditions for riders of all levels.
What to Expect:
- Dry, fast-flowing trails with excellent traction
- Warm temperatures (18-28°C / 64-82°F)
- Up to 18 hours of daylight in late June
- Beautiful pine forests providing natural shade
- Possible sandy sections that become more pronounced
- Higher demand for tours (book early!)
🏍️ Ready to experience this yourself?
Best For: All skill levels, especially beginners. The dry conditions and good visibility make this the safest season for learning.
What to Bring:
- Light, breathable riding gear
- Sunscreen and hydration pack
- Light layers for evening rides
- Camera for stunning golden-hour photos
Summer weekends fill up fast, especially for our popular 2-day and 3-day tours. If you're planning a summer trip, reach out at least 2-3 weeks in advance to secure your dates.
Pro Tip: Book early morning or late afternoon tours to avoid the midday heat and catch the best light for photos.
Autumn (September - October): The Golden Season
Many experienced riders consider autumn the best season for enduro in Latvia. The combination of stable weather, stunning colors, and varied terrain creates unforgettable experiences.
What to Expect:
- Vibrant autumn colors (late September through October)
- Crisp, cool temperatures (8-16°C / 46-61°F)
- Mixed trail conditions: dry to slightly damp
- Falling leaves add a magical atmosphere
- Lower tourist traffic
- Excellent wildlife viewing opportunities
Best For: All skill levels. The cooler temperatures are perfect for maintaining energy on longer rides, and the scenery is breathtaking.
What to Bring:
- Mid-weight riding gear with windproofing
- Glove liners for extra warmth
- Clear or yellow-tinted goggles (light can be lower)
- Extra battery for your camera!
Autumn is our personal favorite season. The forests transform into a palette of gold, orange, and red. The trails are usually in great condition—not too dry, not too muddy—and the cooler temperatures mean you can ride harder without overheating.
Photographer's Paradise: If you're into photography or just want stunning Instagram shots, late September to mid-October is your window.
Winter (November - March): For the Brave
Winter riding in Latvia is limited and only suitable for experienced riders comfortable with snow and ice. Most of our tours pause during deep winter, but we offer specialized winter experiences in December and early March.
What to Expect:
- Snow-covered trails (December - February)
- Cold temperatures (-5 to 5°C / 23-41°F)
- Reduced daylight (as little as 6-7 hours in December)
- Unique winter landscape beauty
- Specialized equipment required
Best For: Advanced riders with winter riding experience only.
Special Offering: We occasionally run snow enduro experiences for experienced riders. These require special preparation and equipment. Contact us if you're interested in a winter adventure.
Choosing Your Season: Quick Guide
New to Enduro? → Choose Summer (June-August) for the best learning conditions.
Want a Challenge? → Try Spring (April-May) for technical mud riding.
Best Overall Experience? → Book Early Autumn (September) for perfect weather and stunning scenery.
Budget-Conscious? → Consider Late Autumn (October) when we sometimes offer shoulder-season discounts.
Weather Preparedness
Latvia's weather can be unpredictable, especially during spring and autumn. We always:
- Monitor forecasts closely and adjust routes as needed
- Provide waterproof riding gear as standard
- Have backup indoor facilities for briefings and breaks
- Maintain flexible scheduling when severe weather threatens
Important: No matter the season, bring layers. You'll heat up quickly when riding, but breaks can get chilly, especially in spring and autumn.

Our tour calendar opens 6 months in advance. Here's when to book:
- Summer tours: Book 4-6 weeks ahead (3 months for peak July)
- Spring/Autumn tours: Book 2-4 weeks ahead
